How different teams at The Deep View use it (still)

The team breakdown still holds three months later, but the workflows have deepened.

Partnerships: every external call gets documented without scrambling to remember what was discussed. The team also synced Granola with Slack, so partnership conversations now pipe straight into the channel with full notes. The whole team has live context on every conversation happening across the org without anyone having to write up summaries after the fact.

Editorial: writers and editors use it for interviews and research conversations. When you're focused on asking good questions, you can't also be taking perfect notes. Granola handles that, so the journalism stays sharp.

Internal meetings: team syncs get captured. Decisions don't get lost. Action items don't fall through the cracks.

Speaking engagements: conversations with event organizers, podcast hosts, and collaborators all get documented without extra effort. Saves a ton of scheduling headaches, keeps every commitment and follow-up in one place, and means nothing falls through the cracks when there are multiple events being juggled at once.

How you might use it

That's how it works for us. Here's how it tends to work for readers depending on your role.

If you're a Founder/Operator: querying across investor calls, customer conversations, team 1:1s, and leadership meetings to spot what's actually coming up across the business. Less "what did we decide last quarter" guesswork, more pattern recognition across every conversation that matters.

If you're in Sales/Customer-facing: tracking deal and account context across multiple calls, querying "why did we lose [deal]" across the full call history, and never going into a second meeting having forgotten what was said in the first. Particularly useful when you're juggling 20+ active deals or accounts where the thread of what was promised six months ago needs to stay intact.

If you're in Product/Engineering: querying across user interviews, design reviews, and architecture discussions to track decisions over time. Useful for things like "why did we choose X approach in Q1" without digging through Slack threads or Notion docs. Also captures context for async-heavy teams where not everyone is in every meeting.

If you're a Manager: pulling patterns across 1:1s with your team. What's top of mind, where blockers keep appearing, what decisions need to be revisited. The kind of thing that's hard to track in your head across 5+ direct reports.

The AI querying

In January we mentioned you could query across folders of meetings. We're using this feature a lot more now.

For our editorial team, it's been one of the bigger unlocks. They can query across three months of AI industry conversations and ask things like "what trends keep coming up across our interviews?" or "what are operators saying about [specific topic] right now?"

The answers come back grounded in actual conversations, not generic AI summaries. That's a real research workflow.

For partnerships, the same idea is applied differently. Querying across a quarter of sponsor conversations to spot patterns in what brands are asking for, what problems they’re having, and where we can help the most.

Spaces, the new team layer

The biggest update from Granola's side has been Spaces, which launched in March.

Spaces are team workspaces with folders, granular access controls, and Granola Chat built in. The idea is that conversations are a richer source of context than docs, decks, or emails, so the answers Granola gives you when you query across a Space are richer too.

Practically, that means a sales team can ask "why are we losing this specific deal" across every call connected to it. Research teams can ask "what are users consistently asking for" across hundreds of interviews. Marketing can write a brief grounded in actual planning conversations rather than reconstructing them from memory.

Vanta, Gusto, Asana, Cursor, and Mistral AI are using it already. It turns Granola from something one person uses into something a whole team builds context on.

Keeping things relevant

With most AI notetakers, you get a full transcript and a summary of the entire meeting. Maybe half of it is relevant to you (at best). The rest is noise.

Granola works differently because you're noting what matters as it happens. A quick note, a keyword, a name or question mark next to a decision. Those signals tell Granola what to focus on.

The result: 100% of your summary is relevant. No sifting through filler to find the parts you care about.

Shorter notes. More useful. Actually worth reading after the call.

Try it on your next call

On average, Granola saves around 10 hours per week per person, not because we take better notes, but because we don't have to redo the work after meetings.

If you tried it in January, we think you should give it another shot. The product has moved fast in three months.

If you haven't tried it yet, the simplest test is one month. Use the code THEDEEPVIEW for your first month free, run it on every call, and see whether you're actually reading the notes after, or whether they're going where every other AI transcript goes.

Our bet is you'll be in month two before you notice.
