TOGETHER WITH BRAVE
Build an AI Search Engine
The Brave Search API brings affordable developer access to the Brave Search index: an independent index of the Web with over 20 billion webpages.
What makes it different?
Built on real page visits from actual humans—collected anonymously, of course—which filters out tons of junk data.
Independent and built from scratch—that means no Big Tech biases or extortionate prices.
Index is refreshed with tens of millions of pages daily, so it always has accurate, up-to-date information.
The Brave Search API can be used to assemble a dataset to train your AI models, and help with retrieval augmentation at the time of inference. All while remaining affordable with developer-first pricing.
Integrating the Brave Search API into your workflow translates to more ethical data sourcing and more human-representative datasets.
Exploring Meta's Integration of AI Chatbot Across Its Apps
AI Expansion Across the Meta Ecosystem
Meta is significantly enhancing its presence in the AI landscape by incorporating its latest large language model, Llama 3, into the search functionalities of its major platforms, including Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, and WhatsApp. This rollout, which extends to many countries, is part of Meta's broader strategy to embed more intelligent and responsive AI capabilities across its network. The integration is accompanied by the launch of additional features such as improved image generation speeds and direct access to web search results, enriching the user interaction with AI tools within the Meta ecosystem. Here’s Zuck casually announcing that he’s blown the AI game wide open 👇️
Enhanced Features and Global Reach
Alongside its AI chatbot integration, Meta has introduced a dedicated website, meta.ai, where users can interact directly with the Meta AI chatbot. New functionalities allow users to transform images into animations or GIFs and receive enhanced image quality in AI-generated photos. Despite extensive reach, certain regions like India remain in continued testing phases, reflecting Meta's cautious approach to AI deployment. This global expansion aims to make Meta AI the most accessible and intelligent AI assistant available, challenging other market leaders in the generative AI space.
Addressing AI Challenges and Future Plans
As Meta pushes AI across various access points—including individual and group chats and, soon, the Meta Quest headset—the company faces the inherent challenges of AI-generated content, such as the potential for producing nonsensical or inappropriate responses. Meta is actively working to refine these systems, ensuring that users are informed about the limitations of AI while promising ongoing enhancements to improve reliability and user experience.

✅ Meta Unveils Llama 3 Models
Meta has launched Llama 3, a significant update in its Llama series of generative AI models, introducing two models with 8 billion and 70 billion parameters, respectively. These models, trained on extensive GPU resources, showcase top-tier performance on various AI benchmarks. Meta claims these models outperform similar models in tasks involving knowledge, skill acquisition, and reasoning. Llama 3 models are part of Meta's ongoing efforts to improve AI's steerability, accuracy, and safety, employing a vast dataset and advanced data-filtering techniques to enhance performance and reduce biases.
Alphabet's Project Bellwether Leverages AI to Predict Natural Disasters ⛈️
Alphabet X has introduced Project Bellwether, an AI-driven initiative to predict natural disasters such as wildfires and floods more efficiently. This project aims to enhance the responsiveness of disaster relief efforts by using advanced machine learning to analyze geospatial data. The United States National Guard's Defense Innovation Unit will implement Bellwether's prediction engine, which promises to significantly speed up the analysis process, improving decision-making and potentially saving lives and property by anticipating disaster impacts more accurately.
