Even as AI models become increasingly advanced, many people still rely on familiar apps for specific tasks. While most AI chatbots, including Anthropic’s Claude, have integrations with popular apps, Claude’s experience with external apps just got a boost.
In addition to accessing an app’s capabilities in Claude, users can now interact with apps directly inside the chat. In practice, this means that during your conversation with Claude, you will be able to view the application's interface and use it the same way you would if you opened it on its own.
The biggest win is eliminating the need for context switching as well as streamlining users’ workflows. That's why the first tools being made available as interactive apps are geared toward working professionals, including Asana, Box, Canva, Clay, Figma, Hex, Monday, and Slack.
These apps range in functionality but can help with tasks such as creating presentations, organizing team workflows, analyzing charts, searching for files, researching companies, and more. Salesforce is also making its Agentforce, Data 360, and Customer 360 apps available in Claude soon, providing additional enterprise capabilities.
The interactive apps experience was built on Model Context Protocol (MCP), an Anthropic-pioneered open standard for securely connecting AI assistants and agents to data systems.
Paid subscribers can access the interactive app experience on web and desktop, including Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise users, with access expanding to Claude Cowork soon. This announcement comes on the heels of Claude Cowork being made available for Team and Enterprise users, two weeks after launching to Pro and Max users.
